The challenge for this foyer renovation was to create a dramatic space to welcome guests into the home while still satisfying functional needs and also incorporating some of the homeowner's existing decorative accessories. By painting the trim and walls of the space the same color, we will blur the boundaries of the small room and break up the space less. The warm honey-tones of the wood, jute rug, and patterned feature wall serve to balance the cool dark grays that form the backdrop of the room. Leaded glass sun-catchers and a black iron and glass light fixture mimic the language of the existing leaded glass panel in the front door and the black painted french door that leads into the living space.
