Looking to nature for inspiration, the reference point for these model studies was the Zen garden. While these Japanese gardens can be raked into endless patterns, the main repeating unit is the single line. By extruding, copying, and mirroring what began as a series of straight parallel lines, a scheme of pulling and pushing of laminated layers that later became the basis for the design concept of the Pause hotel.
