The design concept for this vibrant arts high school, located in midtown Manhattan, is based around the ideas of overlap and interaction. Using biological slides of organisms and Venn diagrams as references, a scheme of overlapping rectangles was developed to form classrooms and link spaces with overlapping needs or interests. A stimulating color palette and large windows stimulate both students and passersby, allowing the city community to visually engage with the school community.
